Friends of Smyrna Public Library, also known as FOSL, was established in 1987, and is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization whose object is to promote the interest and welfare of Smyrna Public Library as a cultural, educational, and recreational asset to the town of Smyrna and Rutherford County, including contributing to reading engagement in the local community via donations of books and educational materials to non-profit, community and governmental agencies.
As a current annual or lifetime member of FOSL, you’ll know that you are making a difference in your library. When you have a current paid membership, you are a voting member of FOSL at FOSL’s Annual General Meeting each year in October. Voting members of FOSL are also eligible for Veritas FCU membership. FOSL members receive email updates about events, programs and volunteer opportunities.
The Friends of Smyrna Library Board meets monthly at the Smyrna Public Library. The public is welcome to attend and observe the monthly meetings. Email FOSL for the exact dates and times of our meetings.
