After a unanimous vote, the Rutherford County Library System is pleased to announce the appointment of Heath Lee as the new RCLS Library Director effective November 2, 2026. With his record of successful growth in past library positions, the board believes that Lee is the right candidate to guide the Rutherford County library into the future.
Lee comes to RCLS from the Mountain Regional Library System in Canton, Georgia, where he has served as Library Director since 2020. During that time he expanded the system’s overall operating budget and oversaw the construction of a new library branch. A graduate of both Southern Wesleyan (BS, 2004) and Florida State University (MLIS, 2007), Lee has worked in libraries for nearly 20 years.
On behalf of the RCLS management team and staff, the Board, and our library partners, we are excited to welcome Heath to our system. We look forward to collaborating with him on new strategies to better serve our local communities and county.
