Introducing: The Library of Things at the TEC

The Technology Engagement Center is excited to announce their newest collection: The Library of Things, featuring non-traditional items for checkout. The Library of Things collection is funded through the materials budget – just like books and movies – as well as support from the Friends of the Library. Thanks to supplemental funding from the Foundation, the long-planned LoT is now available! We have items in categories like Electronics, Science & Technology, and Games. These are atypical Library items you can borrow, a great way to “try before you buy” or enjoy the use of an item that’s needed only occasionally. Check out with an Adult RCLS library card, they are loaned out for 1 week. A User Agreement will be saved into your RCLS file. This collection is available specifically at the Technology Engagement Center at 306 Minerva Drive, Murfreesboro, TN. Please do not return items to book drop or a different library branch. Look for the Library of Things list on the homepage of our online catalog for the beginnings of our collection.  The LoT includes the STEAM Kits and Citizen Science Kits, too. More information? Call the TEC, email info-tec@rclstn.org, or stop by and see for yourself. If you have ideas or suggestions for additional “things” for our collection please let us know by emailing us or by speaking to a staff member on your next visit. Yes, we are open to donations.
