This March, the SciFri Book Club will read Legacy: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in Medicine by Uché Blackstock. In Legacy, Blackstock reveals her own experiences with systemic racism as a Black doctor, and discusses the barriers to adequate healthcare for Black Americans. Through memoir and well-researched critique, the book uncovers the profound and long-standing inequities that have led to a massive underrepresentation of Black women in medicine and advocates for long-overdue change.
The SciFri Book Club will meet at 5:30 pm at the Technology Engagement Center.
