Puppet Workshop at Smyrna

July 11 @ 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Make your own puppet and learn puppetry from a local puppeteer here at Smyrna Public Library! Free and open to all ages

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join puppeteer and performer John Yates for a fun, interactive puppetry workshop where kids, teens, and adults can learn how to turn a simple puppet into a living, breathing character! Thank you to Friends of Smyrna Library for helping to make this program possible.

Participants will explore the basics of puppet performance, including movement, focus, voice, emotion, and storytelling. Through playful exercises and group activities, we’ll learn how puppets can express big feelings, tell funny stories, and connect with an audience.
This workshop is designed for all experience levels. No theater background or prior puppetry experience is needed. Just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to be a little silly. Perfect for families, young performers and creative adults. Attendees may bring their own puppets but it is not required. Participants will make puppets out of household items during the workshop.
