Rutherford County Library System Announces Out-of-County Library Card Program

The Rutherford County Library System is pleased to announce the launch of a new RCLS Out-of-
County Library Card, available to anyone who does not reside within Rutherford County.

Starting November 3, 2025, individuals from outside the county can access most library resources and
services for an annual fee of $25.00.

This new Out-of-County Library Card program will provide broader community access and promote literacy and learning across region boundaries. To obtain this card, applicants must present proper identification. Existing Rutherford County residents with a library card or those wishing to obtain one will continue to enjoy free access to library services, with no change to their current services.

This program reflects our commitment to fostering education, literacy, and community engagement for all who wish to use our facilities within Rutherford County.
