The Murfreesboro Writers Group is a group of local writers who seek to improve their work through mutual critique. They meet every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the 2nd floor Conference Room at Linebaugh Library. Anyone interested in writing is welcome to join a meeting to see if you'd like to be a part of the group. The Technology Engagement Center (TEC) is proud to host free High School Equivalency Test classes (HiSET) every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. This class is sponsored by Rutherford County's Adult Education and Workforce Essentials programs.
These tests "include elements that allow individuals to demonstrate their high school-level proficiency and readiness for higher education or the workplace. Multiple-Choice tests in Reading, Math, Writing, Science, and Social Studies, as well as one written argumentative essay, must be passed. Students may take the tests on the computer or with paper/pencil" (RCSchools, 2022).

Every Tuesday and Thursday, MGL Library will be opening the S.T.E.A.M Room during Patterson Park Community Center's Homeschool PE classes. This additional space allows families the opportunity for socialization, meetings, planning, and additional instructional time while other family members participate in Homeschool PE in the gym.

Welcome to Who's Got Popcorn? MGL's Movie Club. This is a film club to provide movie lovers with a space to discuss a range of movies from different genres. Every month we will discuss member's choice movies voted on at the previous meeting. Sit back, enjoy the movies and join the discussion! All movies chosen are available for checkout as well as major streaming services. THIS PROGRAM IS VIRTUAL.

Rules for being a member are simple:
1. Watch the movie before attending the club meeting.
2. Please keep the tone of the conversation respectful at all times.
3. Members must be 18+ due to some of the movie ratings.
MGL reserves the right to bar anyone who does not adhere to these guidelines.

Shopt at the Friends of Linebaugh Bookstore on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The bookstore is located on the 1st floor of Linebaugh Public Library, directly past the video section.
The bookstore is also open on these days and times:

Linebaugh Public Library is pleased to host author Dr James Jones on Saturday, December 16, from 10am-2pm for a book signing. Jones will be signing and selling copies of his book Tennessee in the Victorian Era.
Tennessee in the Victorian Era describes social life in the Volunteer State during the Victorian Era. It focuses on things other than grand dames, tea parties, and elegant mansions, namely other little-known examples of social life, including military drill teams, scandal, love and espionage, bicycling, parades and Civil War committees of safety.
The Youth LEGO club meets on the 3rd Saturday of every month at 10 am. Join other enthusiasts for an open-ended LEGO maker-space, and see what you can create!
