Local author Navita Gunter will be signing and selling copies of her new book about surviving cervical cancer entitled, The Day my Vagina Tried to Kill Me.

Poet Navita has been writing about her life and the worlds of others for over forty years. Not only is she an award-winning poet, but she is also the founder and CEO of the Cervical Cancer Coalition of Tennessee. Because of her regal dress when attending public poetry readings and tireless work to help create a poetry scene, she became known as the “Queen of Nashville Poetry.” Now a resident of Murfreesboro, Günter continues to be a regular face at Poetry in the Boro and the Boro Art Crawl where she performs readings.
