DESCRIPTION:In preparation for this year’s “Color Our World” summer reading theme\, we are offering a 6-week art program for kids in grades 5 and up. The Young Artists of Linebaugh Library\, or YALL Club\, will be meeting on Tuesdays from 3:30 – 4:30 pm starting April 15th. Weekly project themes include accordion books\, advertising\, and design challenges with a special focus on archives and art. \nNo registration is required.

DESCRIPTION:Calling all aspiring authors! We’re starting a new Creative Writing Club at Linebaugh in January. Tweens and teens can learn about different types of creative writing\, practice them\, and share their work with friends on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 4 pm! \nOn April 1st\, we’ll be exploring comedy and satire. On April 15th\, we’ll have our freeform session\, where members can enjoy free writing\, open mic presentations\, and feedback on any creative writing projects they want to share! NOTE: The 15th will be our last session before we take a brief hiatus for the summer reading program. Club activities will resume in fall.

DESCRIPTION:Curious about how art affects our emotions? Join us for a free\, artist-led workshop on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the 2nd floor Conference Room at Linebaugh Public Library. Artist CatieBeth Thomas has been volunteering as an art therapist\, creating her own painted and fiber art works and teaching art since 2013. She is a native Tennesseean who believes everyone should have access to community spaces where they can express themselves. Participants will explore color theory and their emotions\, gratitude\, and self love. These art classes will be from 5:30 – 6:30 pm\, are for adults and teens\, and all materials are provided.
