Linebaugh Public Library is pleased to host local author Navita Gunter for a book signing on Tuesday, January 14, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Gunter will be signing and selling copies of her book, The Day My Vagina Tried to Kill Me, published by Lowbar Publishing Company in 2019.

The Day My Vagina Tried to Kill Me highlights cervical cancer. This disease is serious, but is often not spoken about because of the emotional pain associated with the disease for most women. Gunter boldly shares her story and her emotional struggle through and fight against cervical cancer. She wants other women to know that this is a disease they can survive, just like her.

Gunter is from Guthrie, Kentucky. She was diagnosed with cervical cancer at age 27. Gunter is the founder of the Cervical Cancer Coalition of Tennessee, which is a non-profit organization that supports women and their families, who are facing the challenges of cervical cancer. She co-founded the poetry troupe, Generation, and has been honored as the Queen of Nashville Poetry. She is the author of N2Words and she frequently attends “Poetry in the Boro.”

Gunter will be selling copies of her book The Day My Vagina Tried to Kill Me for $15 each. Cash and checks accepted.
