Courier Driver - Part Time - Linebaugh Library

Under the direction of the RCLS Linebaugh Branch Manager, the Courier Driver will transport library materials between RCLS branches in a timely and secure manner. The Courier Driver will be loading and unloading trucks, moving, handling and tracking totes filled with library circulation materials, mail, supplies, and other miscellaneous items. Ability to drive on established routes and follow established laws and safe driving procedures and practices. Inspect vehicle and vehicle equipment, such as mirrors, lights, gas gauge, temperature gauge, tires, turn signals, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles. Vehicles are properly cleaned and washed regularly.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent or above; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess a valid Tennessee Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Scheduling flexibility is required, but a regular schedule of hours, including nights and weekends, with occasional
exceptions, is possible. This position is classified as Non-Exempt for the purpose of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Youth Services Assistant - Full Time - Linebaugh Library

Linebaugh Library, of the Rutherford County Library System, is accepting applications for a full-time Youth Services Assistant position. This position assists the Youth Services Coordinator in the performance of duties related to the Children and Young Adult programs and assists at the Circulation Desk. Duties include but are not limited to: assisting in planning, scheduling, advertising, and delivering public story hours, summer reading programs, teen programming, and other activities; assisting in planning, preparing, and conducting programs for visiting groups; conducting outreach to parent/family nights at restaurants and schools; assisting teachers and schools in scheduling library visits; assisting in planning and scheduling library tours; assisting in identifying and recommending needed books and materials; operating automation system used by Rutherford County Library System; providing information to patrons regarding library programs and services; performing readers advisory services, and assisting patrons and instructing them in the use of library automation systems and resources. This position is classified as Non-Exempt for the purpose of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is an entry-level position. Evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent or above and a minimum of 1-year recent experience working with children or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
